John Northrop

My first professional love was photography. I fell for it in high school, paid my way with it through college, used it in my first half-dozen jobs. I didn’t give it a full shot (so to speak) as a career, choosing instead to work for a living, mostly in public education, where nothing comes easy for anybody, as far as I know. Along the way I sometimes wondered, what if? So in 2011 upon retiring from the Alabama School of Fine Arts, my last and favorite posting, I was equipped and primed to give photography another go. This site documents my continuing exploration.
